Andreas Geipel (born November 2, 1979 in Landshut ) is a former German ice hockey defender who was most recently under contract with EV Landshut in the ice hockey league .

Career

Andreas Geipel began his professional career in the 1998/99 season in the 2nd Bundesliga at TSV Erding . However, he and his team had to relegate to the league this season . After a season in the upper league team of TSV Erding, Geipel moved to the Landshut Cannibals , with whom he won the upper league championship two years later and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the second division, Geipel became one of the best German defenders in the league and for years formed a defender pair with Kamil Ťoupal . In six second division seasons in Landshut, Geipel reached the playoffs every season and was twice runner-up. For the 2008/09 season he moved to the Bietigheim Steelers , with whom he succeeded in winning the second division championship. In the 2011/12 season Andreas Geipel returned to the Landshut Cannibals. At the end of the 2016/17 season , Geipel ended his career.
