Andreas Hella: “I try to use art as a means of critical observation. I try to pick up on disturbing conditions and dress them in painted / drawn words. ”The artist works in two areas: On the one hand, he makes free art - drawing, painting, objects - and, on the other hand, he accepts commissioned work (vehicles, interior design, Gastronomy, facades), mostly in airbrush technique or graffiti.

In his often large-format drawings he mainly uses black and white, only a few colored nuances accentuate his works. In his painting he deals with "organic surface design", often a wide variety of materials, including everyday scrap, are brought into the colorfully designed works. He often uses found objects from the surrounding area for his sculptural objects. "Disposable subjects are turned into art objects" (Andreas Hella). In the area of wall design, he upgrades white walls - from discos, swimming pools, skittle alleys and bowling centers. "The plain-colored wall stimulates the monotony, the motif designed facade surface evokes admiration, attention and a certain kind of emotional reward", says Andreas Hella.

The Hella is versatile in terms of themes and motifs. He takes motifs from life and puts them together to create something new. Thematically, they always revolve around the broad spectrum of human existence. The face with its diverse forms of expression often serves as a basis for him. Human everyday life, relationships and adversity can become motives. He often works with a socially critical background. His works should not be beautiful in the conventional sense, but should “touch the viewer, stir them up, encourage them to search and ultimately rethink. The title of the picture often gives the viewer an introduction to dealing with the work. "

"The art is actually being able to process conditions and present them for discussion in a visually appealing way," says Andreas Hella.
