Andreas Huke
Andreas Huke (born December 3, 1876 in Hüpstedt , Worbis district , † January 26, 1962 in Heilbad Heiligenstadt ) was a Christian trade union secretary, German politician and Member of the Bundestag ( center ).
After elementary school, Huke trained as a weaver. In 1900 he became a master and worked as a weaver. Active in the Christian Textile Workers' Association (CTV), he continued his education in 1910 through economic courses at the Volksverein for Catholic Germany in Mönchengladbach , which in many regions provided the party framework for the Catholic Center Party. From 1914 to 1919 Huke was an employee of the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse in Neumünster , interrupted by the war effort. From 1919 the trade unionist and center man worked full-time as a trade union secretary for the Christian textile workers' association in Heiligenstadt . Huke was a member of the city council in Neumünster in 1919 and in Heiligenstadt (Eichsfeld) since 1924.
As a replacement for the deceased Christian trade unionist Anton Höfle , Huke belonged to the Reichstag for constituency 12 (Thuringia) from February 18, 1925 to May 1928 . 1928–33 he was director of the employment office in Heiligenstadt. On leave by the Nazis afterwards, he had to make a living as a cigar salesman. The Gestapo arrested him in 1944. He is said to have escaped imprisonment in Buchenwald concentration camp due to an eye disease.
