Andreas Köhler (born July 28, 1954 in Essen ) is a Berlin politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

Köhler completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Bayer AG in 1974 and began studying law and business administration in Berlin, Geneva and Cologne at the same time . He graduated in 1981 with the first state examination in law. This was followed by the legal clerkship and in 1985 the doctorate at the Free University of Berlin on the development of property among the Ashanti . In the same year he passed the second state examination in law.

Since then, Köhler has been a lawyer and has his own law firm in Berlin-Mitte with a focus on commercial, corporate, construction and insolvency law. Since 1989 he has also been licensed as a tax advisor .

politics

From 1999 to 2001 and 2006 to 2011 Köhler was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . His constituency was Karlshorst (constituency 6) . Until the end of the 16th electoral term of the House of Representatives, Köhler was chairman of the committee of inquiry into the irregularities in the sale of the Spreedreieck . In addition, he ran unsuccessfully for election to the Bundestag in 2002 and 2005 as a direct candidate for the Lichtenberg constituency .

Memberships

Köhler is a member of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt , the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund and chairman of the Paul Singer Association and the Karlshorst Citizens Association . Until 2013 he was also on the board of the Berlin Bar Association .

Private

He is married and has two children.
