Andreas Klein (film producer)
Andreas Ralf Klein (born March 4, 1962 ) is a German film producer and entrepreneur .
Life
Andreas Klein is the son of Albert E. Klein (born January 8, 1929), the founder of Splendid Film Klein GmbH . After graduating from school, he studied in Cologne.
In 1980 Klein joined the family business. He built up the home entertainment and post production divisions. With the IPO in 1999 and the transformation of the Splendid Group into Splendid Medien AG , he was appointed CEO of the company. On December 31, 2019, in coordination with the Supervisory Board, he resigned from his position as CEO of Splendid Medien AG and from his positions as managing director of the subsidiaries of Splendid Medien AG in order to be able to spend more time with his family. He will continue to act as an advisor.
Since 2000 he has worked as a film producer. Well-known works are the films Traffic - Power of the Cartel , Desert Saints , The Piano Player or the agent films Agent Cody Banks and Agent Cody Banks 2: Mission London . He was responsible for the visual effects for the 2003 film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen .
Klein is the father of a son.
