action

Julianne Olsen comes from a rich family. She marries Mitch, whom she has only known for a short time. Julianne and Mitch spend their honeymoon on a remote island in a lake in the Montana forests, with no contact with the outside world.

Everything goes well at first, but when Julianne tries to get in touch with the outside world, an argument breaks out. When Mitch refuses to leave and his character changes, Julianne tries to leave the island, which is problematic because she cannot swim and is also afraid of water. Mitch turns more and more into a psychopath and during an argument, Julianne knocks him out and is able to leave the island on a boat. Mitch wakes up, swims in the lake, finds his wife, and brings her back. Another attempt by Julianne to escape does not succeed; she is tied to a tree with a chain.

Julianne takes advantage of her husband's absence and buries a bear trap on the property. During another argument with Mitch, who has now openly revealed his cruel intentions, he wants to kill her, but falls into the bear trap and is shot. In his hopeless situation, he begs Julianne to kill him. She cannot do this, but gives him with the words "Free yourself from yourself." the ability to shoot yourself. Finally he commits suicide. Julianne manages to swim through the lake and she finds her way back to freedom.
