Andreas Knie (politician)
Andreas Knie (* 1953 ) is a German doctor and former local politician ( Free Voters ).
Career
Knie was chairman of the Free Voters' Association in Kaufbeuren and a member of the board of the Free Voters Swabia. In the local elections in the spring of 1990 he moved into the city council of Kaufbeuren. In 1992 he was elected Lord Mayor of the city. From 1998 he was a member of the district assembly of Swabia . In the 2004 mayoral election, he was defeated by the CSU candidate Stefan Bosse .
Until 2004, Knie was a member of the board of the Bavarian Association of Cities and the Presidium of the German Association of Cities .
