Andreas Luiken

Andreas Luiken (born February 10, 1925 in Minsen , Amt Jever ; † January 9, 2012 in Jever ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1973 to 1990 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Luiken graduated from secondary school and then volunteered for the Second World War. There he was used as a pilot and was captain of the reserve. After the Second World War, he did vocational training from 1945 to 1950 and worked as a self-employed farmer from 1950. In 1957 he joined the CDU. Like Rudolf Garlichs, he was also a member of the supervisory board of the Friesland housing association. Luiken was councilor from 1964 and mayor of the municipality of Wangerland from 1966 to 1984 . During this time, he moved into the Lower Saxony state parliament for the first time on February 20, 1973, when he moved up into the seventh electoral term on the CDU state list. Luiken also moved into the Lower Saxony state parliament in the next state elections, to which he was a member until the end of the eleventh electoral period on June 20, 1990. In the last electoral term, Luiken was secretary of the Lower Saxony state parliament. He was also chairman of the tourism subcommittee of the Committee on Economics and Transport from 1975 and remained so until his resignation.
