Andreas Möller (born March 22, 1598 in Pegau ; † January 21, 1660 in Freiberg ) was a German teacher, doctor and chronicler.

Act

Möller was a classic universal scholar of his time. He was vice-principal of the Latin School in Freiberg, city doctor and historian. He achieved lasting fame through the publication of his chronicle Theatrum Freibergense Chronicum in 1653 .

Möller's private library was acquired by the Kamenz mayor, Ehrenfreund Reichel, from whose estate the books came to the Kamenz council and are now part of the Kamenz city archive.

Honors

The Freiberger Altertumsverein e. V. has been awarding the Andreas Möller History Prize every year since 2002, supported by the Foundation for Art and Culture of the Sparkasse Mittelachsen.

The historical library of the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium in Freiberg is called Andreas-Möller-Bibliothek.
