Andreas Neagu

Andreas Neagu (born September 30, 1985 in Brilon ) is a former German - Romanian bobsledder .

Neagu started bobsleigh in 1999. In 2002 he took part in the German Junior Championships for the first time and at the German Junior Championships 2004 in Winterberg he came third in the two-man bobsleigh. At the Junior World Championships 2005 in Winterberg Neagu reached fourth place with the four-bobsleigh. After that, Neagu achieved several good places in German championships and in the European Cup, but could not prevail against the German competition. So he decided to switch to the Romanian association.

Supervised by his Romanian father Paul Neagu , himself a three-time Olympic participant with the bobsleigh, Andreas Neagu has won several Romanian championship titles in two-man and four-man bobsleigh since 2009/2010. In 2012 he made his debut in the Bobsleigh World Cup with the Romanian four-man bobsleigh. In the FIBT World Championships 2013 in St. Moritz, he was 26 in 2014 took Neagu at the Winter Olympics in part. In Sochi he reached the 24th place with the Romanian four-man bobsleigh with Paul Muntean , Dănuț Moldovan and Bogdan Otavă .
