As of the 2000 census , there were 290 residents, 84 households, and 58 families in Nespelem Community. The population density was 4.8 per km². There were 102 housing units at an average density of 1.7 per km².
The population consisted of 6.55% whites , 92.07% Indians , and 0.69% other "races" . Hispanics or Latinos of "any race" made up 2.76% of the population.
Of the 84 households, 33.3% had children under the age of 18, 36.9% were run by married couples living together , 25% by single mothers; 29.8% were non-families. 27.4% of households were singles and 6% were single people over 65 years of age. The average household size was 3.45 and the average family size was 4.22.
