Andreas Nierhaus

Andreas Nierhaus (* 1962 ) is a German basketball official and trainer.

Life

Nierhaus, who studied German , had already been working as a youth trainer at BC Johanneum Hamburg for years when he also took on managerial tasks at the then second division club in February 1997. He became managing director and in this way participated in the team's promotion to the basketball league . Nierhaus also remained active for BCJ in the Bundesliga. In the 2000/2001 season, in addition to his duties as managing director, he also took over the position of co-trainer from Peter Schomers and, after his dismissal, from Pat Elzie . After manager Axel Cadow left in September 2009, he took over part of his area of ​​responsibility.

From 2002 Nierhaus was coach of VfL Pinneberg in the 2nd regional league, at the end of December 2004 there was a separation after the team had slipped to the bottom of the table. He worked as a coach for BCJ's successor club, BC Hamburg, where he promoted other talents and later national player Ismet Akpinar and Lennard Larysz , who also made it into the Bundesliga. He supervised the BCH men's team as a trainer and worked as a selection trainer for the Hamburg Basketball Association.
