Andreas Popp (lawyer)

Andreas Popp (* 1973 in Ansbach ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Konstanz .

Life

Popp studied law at the University of Passau from 1992 and passed his first state examination in law in 1999. He completed his legal clerkship in the district of the Munich Higher Regional Court in 2002 with the second state examination. He then worked as an assistant to Bernhard Haffke in Passau, where he in 2004 with summa cum laude to the Dr. jur. PhD. From 2006 to 2008 Popp also studied criminology and police science at the University of Bochum . He completed this course in 2008 with the degree of Master of Arts . In 2009 Popp completed his habilitation at Haffke and received the Venia legendi for the subjects of criminal law, criminal procedural law, criminology and legal philosophy.

This was followed by professorships at the universities of Würzburg , Hagen and Munich . In 2013 he was visiting professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin . Since the summer semester 2014, Popp has held the chair for German and European criminal law and criminal procedural law, IT criminal law and legal philosophy at the University of Konstanz, succeeding Jörg Eisele .
