Witoslawitz (Polish: Witosławice ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Groß Neukirch in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski (Kandrzin-Cosel district) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Witoslawitz is located around four kilometers south of Groß Neukirch , 18 kilometers south of the district town of Kędzierzyn-Koźle (Kandrzin-Cosel) and 54 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

The place originated in the 13th century at the latest and was first mentioned in 1217 as "Witoslavici".

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Contributions to the Description of Silesia as Wietaslowi (t) z , Witoslawi (t) z and Witaslawi (t) z , belonged to a baron von Kalckreuth (er) and was in the district of Cosel and had 192 inhabitants Vorwerk, a mill, eleven farmers and 31 gardeners. In 1865 Witoslawitz had seven farmers, two half-farmers, three immigrant jobs, 21 gardener jobs and 22 cottager jobs, as well as a water mill and a forge. The church and the school were in Grzendzin. The Witoslawitz estate belonged to the Czienskowitz manor.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 183 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 69 for membership in Poland. Vitoslawitz remained with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . On May 16, 1936, the place was renamed Wiesenstein in the course of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . On October 1, 1937, the place was incorporated into the community of Teilbach (later "borders"). Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .

In 1945 the previously German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Witosławice . The district of Cosel was renamed Powiat Kozielski. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1975 the powiat Kozielski was dissolved. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On April 29, 2011, the place was also given the official German place name Witoslawitz .
