Koza (German Heinrichsdorf ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Groß Neukirch in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski (Kandrzin-Cosel district) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Koza is located about eight kilometers southwest of the municipality of Groß Neukirch , 22 kilometers south of the district town of Kędzierzyn-Koźle (Kandrzin-Cosel) and 55 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

Heinrich Stritzki, who was the owner of Wronin until 1819 , had founded the Heinrichsdorf colony at the time he was in possession of Wronin. There he let colonists from Saxony and the Marks settle.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 131 people eligible to vote voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 17 for membership in Poland. Heinrichsdorf remained with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .

In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Koza in Poland . The district of Cosel was renamed Powiat Kozielski. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1975 the powiat Kozielski was dissolved. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski .
