Lanietz (Polish: Łaniec ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Groß Neukirch in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski (Kandrzin-Cosel district) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Lanietz is located about eight kilometers southwest of Groß Neukirch , 22 kilometers south of the district town of Kędzierzyn-Koźle (Kandrzin-Cosel) and 57 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .
history
The place originated in the 18th century at the latest and was mentioned in 1783. The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Entries describing Silesia as Laniez and Lancze , was in the district of Cosel and had 46 residents and six houses. In 1865 Lanietz consisted of an estate and a village community. The Lanietz estate belonged to the Czienskowitz estate. At that time, the village had twelve gardener jobs, one migrant and 28 cottager jobs. The church was in Grzendzin and the school in Wronin.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 142 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 34 for membership in Poland. Lanietz stayed with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . On May 8, 1936, the place was renamed Hirschgraben in the course of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . On October 1, 1937, the place was incorporated into the community of Teilbach (later "borders"). Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .
In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Łaniec . The district of Cosel was renamed Powiat Kozielski. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1975 the powiat Kozielski was dissolved. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On April 29, 2011, the place was also given the official German place name Lanietz .
