Klein Ellguth (Polish: Ligota Mała ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Groß Neukirch in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski (Kandrzin-Cosel district) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Klein Ellguth is located around three kilometers west of Groß Neukirch , 15 kilometers southwest of the district town of Kędzierzyn-Koźle (Kandrzin-Cosel) and 50 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

The place was created in the 15th century at the latest and was first mentioned in a document in 1435. The place was initially called Malgota and was founded under German law.

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Entries describing Silesia as Klein Elgut , was in the district of Cosel and consisted of two parts. One part belonged to a Herr von Spanner and had 60 residents, a farm, a farmer, four gardeners and five cottagers. The other part had 54 inhabitants, seven farmers and four cottagers. In 1865 Klein Ellguth consisted of a manor and a village. The manor owned a distillery. At that time the village had seven farmers, five gardeners and 19 cottagers. The church and the school were in Neukirch.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 133 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 48 for membership of Poland. After the division of Upper Silesia, Klein Ellguth remained with the German Empire . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .

In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Ligota Mała . The district of Cosel was renamed Powiat Kozielski. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1975 the powiat Kozielski was dissolved. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On April 29, 2011, the place was also given the official German place name Klein Ellguth .
