Andreas Quentin
Andreas Quentin (born May 18, 1961 ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .
Life
Andreas Quentin was born in Lower Saxony . He finished his legal training in 1989 when he passed the second state examination in law . After that he worked until 1992 as a research assistant at the Institute for Criminal Law , Criminal Procedure Law and Legal Philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .
On September 1, 1992, he entered the higher judicial service of the Free State of Bavaria , where he initially worked as a public prosecutor at the Nuremberg-Fürth regional court . On December 16, 1998, he was appointed judge at the regional court and was initially a member of the 6th civil chamber of the Nuremberg-Fürth regional court, which only dealt with cases from general civil and civil construction law. At the beginning of 2001, he moved to the 5th criminal chamber and the 15th civil chamber of the regional court as an assessor . The 5th criminal chamber was a jury chamber and also responsible for complaints in cases of traffic criminal law . The 15th Civil Chamber dealt with appeals against decisions by local courts . In 2003 Quentin was also temporarily deputy chairman of the 15th Auxiliary Criminal Chamber.
From November 1, 2005, he was seconded to the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court . There he was an assessor in the 1st civil senate. During its time in the Senate, the Senate dealt with appeals and complaints from general civil law, as well as disputes arising from leasing law , legal disputes in the field of construction law and antitrust issues. On September 1, 2006, he was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court . In addition to this judicial activity, Quentin was also head of the press office of the Higher Regional Court until April 30, 2009. As of May 1, 2009, in addition to his ongoing work in the 1st Civil Senate, he was also an assessor in the 1st Criminal Senate and was a member of the Senate for tax advisors and tax agents. The Criminal Senate was responsible for revisions , detention reviews and complaints in criminal matters, prison and execution matters as well as for extradition , transfer and other legal remedies under the Law on International Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (IRG) and international agreements. Since the beginning of 2011 he has been an assessor in the 1st Criminal Senate and in the 15th Civil Senate. The 15th Civil Senate dealt with complaints against decisions under the Therapy Accommodation Act (ThUG) and with complaints against decisions by the local courts in estate and division matters .
In May 2011, Andreas Quentin was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice, where he was assigned to the 4th Criminal Division of the Federal Court of Justice , which is responsible for revisions in criminal matters for the districts of the higher regional courts of Hamm , Naumburg and Zweibrücken and for revisions in traffic criminal matters .
