Andreas Rath (politician)

Andreas Rath (born June 8, 1823 in Dettingen an der Erms , † June 7, 1894 in Cannstatt ) was a German politician and senior bailiff.

life and work

Andreas Rath attended the secondary school in Metzingen . From 1839 to 1841 he was an incipient at the Stuttgart District Office . Until 1843 he attended the upper secondary school in Stuttgart. From 1843 to 1847 he studied criminal sciences in Tübingen . In 1847 and 1848 he passed the first and second higher service exams.

His professional career began in 1848/49 as an unskilled worker at the Rottweil Regional Office. In 1849 and 1850 he worked as an actuary administrator at the Oberämter Besigheim and Aalen . From 1850 to 1858 he was senior actuary at Heilbronn . In 1858 he became secretary and in 1861 assessor at the Central Office for Trade and Commerce and since 1862 a member of the commission for commercial advanced training schools. From 1864 to 1870 he was senior bailiff at the Riedlingen District Office , from 1870 to 1877 at the Weinsberg District Office and from 1877 to 1894 at the Cannstatt District Office with the title and rank of government councilor.

In 1870 he was elected to the Württemberg state parliament for the constituency of Riedlingen and held this mandate until 1876.

Honors

In 1881 Andreas Rath was awarded the Prussian Crown Order 3rd class and the Knight's Cross of the Frederick Order . In 1891 he received the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown
