Andreas Renner (historian)

Andreas Renner (* 1964 ) is a German historian .

Life

After completing his doctorate in 2000 at Bielefeld University , he was a visiting researcher at Hokkaidō University in 2008/2009 . After completing his habilitation in 2009 at the University of Cologne , he was a Heisenberg fellow of the German Research Foundation from 2010 to 2013 . Deputy professorships in Bielefeld , Tübingen , Heidelberg and Constance . Since April 2014 he has been teaching as a professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (LMU).

His research interests are the interweaving history of Eurasia, u. a. in cooperation with the DFG priority program Transottomanica, Russian / Soviet-Japanese relations, imperial history, Russia's North Pacific in cooperation with the German Historical Institute Moscow, history of science and medicine, photography and history and modernity / modernization.
