Andreas Richter (born September 15, 1977 in Cottbus ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .
Career as a player
Richter began his career in his hometown at FSV Cottbus and then moved to Energie Cottbus . The central defender finally came to the regional league club Rot-Weiß Erfurt at the age of 26 via FSV Hoyerswerda and VFC Plauen . There he played in defense and rose with the club in the 2nd Bundesliga .
Then he moved back to the regional league for TuS Koblenz . With Koblenz he made his way into professional business. In the 2006/07 season he had to give way to the newcomers in his position. From the 10th match day he made it back into the regular formation.
For the 2009/10 season , Andreas Richter moved to the regional division Chemnitzer FC , where he signed a contract until 2011. There he collapsed on September 8, 2011 during the morning training. It was subsequently revealed that he had suffered a heart attack. After his heart attack, Richter ended his active career on October 1, 2011.

Career as a coach
After Richter had recovered from his heart attack, he switched to the coaching staff of Chemnitzer FC for the 2012/13 season and worked as an assistant coach and scout for the club. For the 2013/14 season Richter was the new head coach of the regional league club VfB Auerbach from the Regionalliga Nordost . For Auerbach, Richter was the head coach on the sidelines until March 2015. After a 4-0 defeat against FSV Zwickau , Richter was released from his duties.
