Andreas Rieckhof (* 18th June 1959 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and as political officer since 2011. State Council of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in the economic authority .

Life

Youth and education

Rieckhof started school in Abidjan (Republic of Ivory Coast ) in 1964 . He graduated from high school in 1978 at the Albrecht-Thaer-Gymnasium in Hamburg. From 1979 to 1986 he studied history, political science, as well as social and economic history and lived in a shared flat with Olaf Scholz . He completed his studies with a Magister Artium .

As a high school student he was active for the Socialist Student Union Hamburg. He is a member of the SPD.

Professional background

From 1984 he worked for a member of the Hamburg Parliament . 1986 to 1987 followed his community service . From 1988 Rieckhof worked as a research assistant in an office community of eight Hamburg parliamentarians and from 1989 as a research assistant for the SPD Hamburg .

From 1993 to 1995 he worked under Senator Thomas Mirow as head of department for presidential and parliamentary affairs in the presidential department of the urban development authority. From 1996 to 2000 he was first a consultant, then head of department in the joint state planning for Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, which was also part of the urban development authority. Then Rieckhof became the coordinator for the regional development concept in the Hamburg metropolitan region.

In 2000 he left the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and was initially a councilor in Aurich . On September 24, 2006, he was directly elected mayor of the Hanseatic City of Stade , with 61.58% of the vote , as he was until spring 2011.

State Council in the Hamburg Senate

From March 23, 2011 to June 10, 2020, Andreas Rieckhof was State Councilor in the Authority for Economics, Transport and Innovation in the area of ​​"Transport". In the course of the downsizing of the economic authority, which ceded responsibility for transport to an independent, new authority for transport and mobility , he lost his previous area of ​​responsibility in June 2020 and switched to the post of State Councilor for Economics and Innovation, where he replaced Torsten Sevecke .
