Andreas Ritter (born January 24, 1962 in Freital ) is a German sports official . From 2010 to 2018 he was president of the soccer club Dynamo Dresden .

Life

Ritter completed an apprenticeship as a machine and system fitter, but only worked in this profession for a short time and switched to the German Red Cross . There he was initially entrusted with the field of training and further education , currently (2020) he is chairman of the board of the DRK district association Freital.

In 2003 he became a member of the football club Dynamo Dresden, and in November 2010 he was elected president. Before that, he was Vice President. The years following his election were largely shaped by the financial restructuring of the association, including a. the repayment of the "Kölmel loan" and the complete repayment of the debt succeeded. The general assembly of the association re-elected Ritter several times with approval values ​​of over 90%, most recently at the general assembly on November 11, 2017 with 668 of 738 votes (= 90.5%) for another three years. This made him the longest-serving president of Dynamo Dresden since German reunification . After turmoil between the club's presidium and the fans in September 2018, the presidium resigned. Ritter's successor to the post of club president was Holger Scholze , who initially held this position in the transitional presidency and was elected on December 19, 2018 at an extraordinary general meeting.
