Friedrich Besemann
Friedrich Besemann (born October 21, 1796 in Göttingen ; † March 8, 1854 ibid) was a German painter and draftsman, both etcher and lithographer.
Life
Friedrich Besemann was one of the sons of the Georgia Augusta Christian Andreas Besemann master of drawing . The painter Adolf Besemann was a younger brother of Friedrich. He studied in Göttingen from 1815 and followed his father, who died in 1818, with whom he is often confused. Like him, he worked in various techniques and switched from etching to lithography around 1830 . On the basis of his watercolored templates, he created views of the city of Göttingen and its surrounding area, which came into circulation in a wide variety of formats through the publishers Gebr. Rocca and Wiederhold , including the pages of the bibliography , which are popular with students .
