Andreas Schwerd

Andreas Schwerd (* 1883 ; † January 31, 1966 ) was a German teacher and author.

Career

Schwerd came from Lower Franconia. He passed the Abitur at the Gymnasium in Münnerstadt and then studied Classical Philology, German and History in Würzburg and Munich. He worked for a short time as an assistant at the St. Stephan high school in Augsburg and in 1915 came as a teacher at the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich, which remained active until his retirement in 1951. From December 1, 1945 until the end of the 1950/51 school year he was principal of the school. During this time, the high school, which had been badly damaged in the war, was rebuilt and the school returned to regular teaching.

As a textbook author, he made an outstanding contribution to geography lessons.
