Andreas Spannagel (* 1960 in Berlin ) is a German jazz musician (flautist and saxophonist).

Life

Spannagel studied flute from 1984 to 1989 at the Hochschule der Künste, now the University of the Arts , in Berlin (graduated in 1989). There he studied a. a. with Martin Ulrich Senn . After graduating in 1989, Andreas Spannagel went to the Netherlands to study jazz at the University of Music in Amsterdam ( Hilversum Faculty ). He studied here with Ferdinand Povel and Rob Madna (graduated in 1992).

Andreas Spannagel participated in workshops by James Moody , Dave Liebman and Joe Lovano . He was also involved in the Questar Jazz Quartet (1992–1995), Andreas Spannagel Quartet (1998–2001), Thärichens Tentett (since 2000) and Rattle the Cage (project by guitarist Jörg Schippa ). In 2007 he played a. a. with Django Bates . Concert tours with Thärichens Tentett took him to China, India and Vietnam in 2009 and 2010.

In addition, Spannagel had engagements in the hr big band , in musical productions such as Chicago, Glöckner von Notre Dame , Dirty Dancing , Der Schuh des Manitu , Tanz der Vampire , Cats in Berlin , Hanover , Dresden , Leipzig and Basel as well as Pomp Duck and Circumstance and Gayle Tufts Soul Sensations Orchestra.
