Vombsjön , or Våmbsjön , is a lake in the historic southern Swedish province of Skåne , about 20 km east of the city of Lund . The lake is part of the municipalities of Eslöv , Lund and Sjöbo .

It has an area of ​​12 km² and is 20  m above sea level. , its greatest depth is 16 meters. The lake is known for its good water quality and its rich perch population , it has acted as a drinking water reservoir for Malmö, 30 km away, since 1948 .

Two rivers feed the Vombsjön: Björkaån from the east and Borstbäcken from the north. The lake is drained by Kävlingeån , which has been regulated since 1936.

Attractions

The Övedskloster Castle and the Öved Church are located near the lake .
