Oved Church

The Church of Öved ( Swedish Öveds kyrka ) is one of the most distinctive Rococo churches in Sweden . It is located in the municipality of Sjöbo in the historic southern Swedish province of Skåne , near Lake Vombsjön and the Övedskloster Castle .

The church was from 1759 to 1761 according to plans Carl Hårlemans of Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz built, the establishment in the Rococo style was designed by Jean Eric Rehn realized.

In the church there is a painting inspired by the Italian master Caravaggio . The organ was created by Olof Schwan in 1806 .

The church is flanked by two white two-story houses that were built in 1810 and originally served as a school and old people's home.
