Andreas Weber (writer)

Andreas Raimund Weber (born December 24, 1961 in Horn (Lower Austria) ) is an Austrian writer and filmmaker .

Life

He spent his childhood in Gobelsburg and Langenlois. He attended the Bundesrealgymnasium Krems and studied German and history in Vienna. As a student trainee, he worked in various professions, including in factories, as a representative in Germany, as a gas pipeline fitter, in the advertising industry and as a journalist. He wrote film and literary reviews, portraits of authors, articles in chronicles and reports. After completing his studies in December 1990, he worked part-time in Vienna for intercultural learning, in addition to translating practical texts and working as a journalist. From summer 1992 he worked as a language teacher in Nova Gorica (Slovenia), from September 1992 to June 1993 in England, Ilfra-combe / Devon, then from September 1993 to July 1994 AHS teaching internship, from September 1994 to February 1998 professional and Social pedagogue in an integration project for unemployed young people in Wels.

He has been a freelance writer, editor and filmmaker since February 1998, and he also writes author portraits and reviews . He publishes in numerous literary magazines and anthologies as well as radio articles ( Ö1 , Radio Niederösterreich , Radio Oberösterreich , NDR , Hanover) and gives readings. He has been a member of the Graz Authors' Assembly since 1998 . Translations into Hindi, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak.

Weber is a professor of German and history at the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium in Perg .
