Andreas Wehr

Andreas Wehr (* 1954 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer , politician and book author .

Life

Born and raised in Berlin, he successfully studied law at the Free University of Berlin after graduating from high school . After passing the second state examination , he first found employment as a lawyer in a tax office . From 1989 to 1991 he was the head of Heide Pfarr's office and then head of Walter Momper's office . Until 1999 he headed the Berlin office of the Senate's European Commissioner in the Senate Chancellery . For the Confederal Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left of the European Parliament in Brussels , he worked as a research assistant until 2014 .

Party offices, candidacies and memberships

Wehr was a member of the SPD, since 1980 state chairman of the Young Socialists in Berlin and co-author of the "Herford theses". He is a member of the “ Die Linke ” party, the “ ver.di ” trade union and the “Berlin Peace Movement ”. In 1994 and 2005 he ran for the German Bundestag in the Reinickendorf constituency , first for the SPD and later for “Die Linke”. Together with Marianna Schauzu he is the founder of the “Marx-Engels-Center Berlin”. Until 1999 he was co-editor of the " spw - magazine for socialist politics and economy ".
