Andreas Wurm , also Endres Worm (* before 1471, † after 1517) was a German lawyer, monastery dean and official in Speyer .

Life

Andreas Wurm came from Gunzenhausen in Middle Franconia. 1471 enrolled him at the University of Leipzig . In 1480 Wurm was named pastor of Gunzenhausen and canon of the St. Germanus and Mauritius monastery in Speyer. In 1481 he was present at the election of the rector of the University of Padua . In 1486, Wurm was a doctor (of law or canon law) and councilor and envoy to Elector Albrecht of Brandenburg-Ansbach . He appeared several times in the service of his sons.

In 1494 Andreas Wurm was an assessor in the Imperial Court of Justice . In 1503 he was named official , the highest spiritual judge in Speyer. In 1517 Wurm was dean of the collegiate monastery St. Germanus and St. Mauritius in Speyer and was designated as a doctor of both rights. In that year he donated his library with around 200 volumes of legal and theological literature to the city of Weißenburg , as well as ancient authors and Italian humanists. It forms the basis of today's historical council library of the city. After that he was no longer mentioned.
