Andreas Zeller (pastor)

Andreas Zeller (born June 8, 1955 , resident in Zweisimmen ) is a Swiss theologian and pastor . He is the President of the Synodal Council of the Reformed Churches in Bern-Jura-Solothurn .

Life

After the Matura type C at the Gymnasium Bern-Neufeld in 1974, Zeller studied Protestant theology at the University of Bern until 1980 and was ordained in 1981 . In 1998 he received his doctorate as Dr. theol. with a New Testament denominational work. From 1981 to 1987 he was pastor in Flamatt , which at that time belonged to the Reformed parish of the Sense district (canton of Friborg). After that he was pastor in Münsingen until 2007 , before taking up his office as Synodal Council President on October 1, 2007. He had been a part-time member of the Synodal Council since 1999. During his tenure, the Vision Church 21 was developed and the State Church Law of the Canton of Bern was fundamentally revised. According to the regular age regulation, he announced his resignation in autumn 2020.

Andreas Zeller has been married since 1982.
