Ryswan Hadschyjeu ( Belarusian Рызван Гаджыеў , Russian Ризван Сабибуллаевич Гаджиев , Riswan Sabibullajewitsch Gadschijew ) (born January 6, 1987 ) is a Belarusian wrestler . He won several medals at World and European Free Style Championships and was an Olympian in 2008.

Career

Riswan Gadschijew, as he was then still called, began wrestling as a teenager in Russia in 1997 . He concentrated on the free style and started in 2002 for Russia at the Junior European Championship (Cadts) in Vilnius . He won there in the weight class up to 42 kg body weight in front of Sari Isa from Turkey and Suren Adjan from Armenia .

In the next few years Riswan Gadschijew could not prevail in his weight class in Russia against the strong competition of Mawlet Batirow , Bessik Kuduchow , Jamal Otarsultanow or Aljaksandr Kantojeu and therefore did not appear in international championships. He therefore moved to Belarus in 2007 and trains there in the Olympic Training Center of the Belarusian Wrestling Association in Minsk , where he is trained by Valentin Musnikow.

As Ryswan Hadschyjeu he was used at the 2007 World Championships in Baku in the bantamweight division, where he finished 3rd, losing to Bajaraagiin Naranbaatar from Mongolia in the semifinals , but defeating Sezer Akgül from Turkey in the battle for a bronze medal at the World Championships .

In 2008 he made the leap into the final at the European Championships in Tampere in bantamweight with wins over Musa Saidulbatotow, Ukraine , Sezer Akgül and Tim Schleicher , Germany , in which he was defeated by the Russian Jamal Otarsultanov . With the 2nd place in this championship he qualified for participation in the Olympic Games in Beijing . There he managed a victory over Maikel Antonio Perez Gonzalez from Cuba . Against Dilschod Mansurow from Uzbekistan he had to accept a defeat, dropped out and came in 7th place.

In 2009 Ryswan Hadschyjeu won another medal at the World Championships in Herning / Denmark . After victories over Ion Guidea, Moldova , Shinichi Yumoto , Japan and Hassan Rahimi , Iran , a defeat against Yang Kyong-il , North Korea and a victory over Krasimir Krastanow from Great Britain , he received a World Cup bronze medal . At the 2010 World Cup in Moscow he won over Ghenadi Tulbea from Monaco and Alexandru Chirtoacă from Romania, but then lost to Toğrul Əsgərov from Azerbaijan and Bajaraagiin Naranbaatar and therefore only ended up in 8th place.
