Andreas Graf von Bernstorff (born July 14, 1945 in Müssen / Holstein) is a German politician of the Greens and environmental activist .

education and profession

Andreas von Bernstorff attended the Schloss Salem school , where he graduated from high school in 1966. From 1968 to 1973 he studied Slavic Studies, Eastern European History, Sociology and Political Science at the University of Heidelberg . After training as a real teacher at the PH Heidelberg , he was a teacher until 1980. From 1980 to 1984 he worked as a journalist. He is currently teaching the campaign module at the Ec-Europacampus University (Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Frankfurt am Main).

politics

From 1979 von Bernstorff was active in the environmental movement and the newly founded party Die Grünen . From 1980 to 1984 he headed the constituency office of a member of the state parliament before he was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg in 1984. Von Bernstorff represented the Heidelberg constituency through a second mandate . As early as May 29, 1986, he resigned the state parliament mandate according to a rotation resolution of his district association Heidelberg, his successor was Georg Habs-Hoffschrör . Von Bernstorff continued his work with the Greens as a parliamentary advisor in the state parliament and campaign organizer.

Campaigning

From 1989 to 2005 Andreas von Bernstorff was campaign manager at the environmental protection organization Greenpeace . The main focus of his work has always been the subject of toxic waste and toxic waste exports. Another important theme of the campaigns he led was environmental aspects of development policy . He was an authorized delegate from Greenpeace to the United Nations Environment Program UNEP.

Since 2006, von Bernstorff has been working as a freelance consultant and lecturer with unchanged main areas of activity. Based on his work at Greenpeace, he has developed a reference framework for strategic campaigning that is closely linked to the basics of systems theory and classical Chinese strategy thinking.
