Andreea Ulmeanu

Andreea Ulmeanu (born May 15, 1984 in Timișoara ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

She started gymnastics at the age of four and was at CSȘ nr. 1 Timișoara and active at SC Bacau. At the age of 13, Ulmeanu was appointed to the national team. She was a substitute gymnast at both the 1999 World Gymnastics Championships and the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, but was not used.

Her greatest success came at the 2001 World Gymnastics Championships . In Ghent, Belgium, Ulmeanu won the world championship with the Romanian gymnastics team with Andreea Răducan , Loredana Boboc , Sabina Cojocar , Carmen Ionescu and Silvia Stroescu ahead of Russia and the USA. In addition, Ulmeanu reached the final in the jump and was fifth.

After her competitive sports career, Ulmeanu became a fitness trainer. She later denounced the methods of Romanian gymnastics training such as abuse.
