The Beagle Peak is an approximately 700 m high mountain on the West Antarctic Alexander Island . It rises in the center of the Lassus Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1980 after Lieutenant Commander Clyde Alander Beagle Jr. (1935-2005) of the United States Navy , commander of an LC-130 of the VXE-6 flight squadron in Operation Deep Freeze in 1969 and 1970.
