Andrei Kiryukhin ( Russian Андрей Анатольевич Кирюхин ; English transcription: Andrei Anatolyevich Kiryukhin ; * 4. August 1987 in Yaroslavl , Russian SFSR , † 7. September 2011 in Tunoschna near Yaroslavl) was a Russian ice hockey player , who during his career including for locomotive Yaroslavl played in the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Andrei Kiryuchin passed through the junior division of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl . For the second team in the Russian third division, he was first used during the 2003/04 season. In the following season he made his breakthrough in the third highest division when the striker scored 40 points in 51 games and was tenth in the scorer list. During the 2005/06 season Kirjuchin made his debut for the professional team of Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the Russian Super League . He did not succeed in the breakthrough for the time being, so the Russian was again mainly used in the second team. It was around a season before he scored his first goal in the Russian Super League.

For the 2007/08 season an engagement with the second division HK Belgorod followed . After a season he decided to leave the club and hired the league competitor Kapitan Stupino . Here the attacker also made the breakthrough in the second highest Russian league. He finished the season in first place on the team's internal scorer list; across the league, he finished sixth with 54 points in 64 games in the main round. For the 2009/10 season he was brought back from his youth club Lokomotive Yaroslavl. From now on the Russian was an integral part of the KHL squad and reached the mark of 25 points in the main round in the 2010/11 season .

Kiryukhin was killed in a plane crash near Yaroslavl on September 7, 2011 .

International

For Russia , Kirjuchin took part in the 2007 U20 World Youth Championship . In six games, the striker contributed three assists to the silver medal win of the Russian selection.
