Andrei Petrovich Dubasov ( Russian Андрей Петрович Дубасов , scientific transliteration Andrej Petrovič Dubasov ; born August 17, 1984 in Nizhnevartovsk , Autonomous Okrug of Khanty and Mansi ) is a Russian biathlete .
Andrei Dubassow took part in his first international junior race in 2002. He competed in the Junior World Championships in Ridnaun and won the pursuit title after finishing 21st in the sprint. He was also second in the season and 13th in the individual. A year later he won the sprint and relay titles in Kościelisko . In the pursuit he was tenth, in the individual 19th. The 2004/05 season the Russian started in the Junior European Cup and mostly ran under the top ten, the best result was a second place behind Ondřej Moravec in the pursuit race from Obertilliach . Between 2005 and 2009 he only took part in the 2007 Winter Universiade in Cesana San Sicario . The best result there was fifth place in the individual. The first major event among men was the 2009 European Biathlon Championships in Ufa . In the sprint, Dubassow finished eleventh, in the pursuit he was 19th.
