Andrei Shevchuk

Andrei Shevchuk ( Russian Андрей Шевчук , English transcription Andrey Shevchuk ; born March 8, 1970 ) is a former Russian javelin thrower .

In 1989 he was competing for the Soviet Union , third in the European Athletics Junior Championships. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he was eighth as a representative of the United Team .

He set his personal best of 85.70 m on June 1, 1993 in Bratislava .

In 1994 he won, now starting for Russia, gold at the Goodwill Games , but was eliminated from the qualification at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki .

Andrei Shevchuk is 1.87 meters tall and weighed 91 kg when he was active.
