Andrej Barčák (politician, 1920)

Andrej Barčák (born January 19, 1920 in Mlynky , † July 23, 1984 in Prague ) was a Czechoslovak politician and minister.

Barčák studied mining in Hungary and worked in the industry; In 1948 he became an engineer. In 1948 he joined the Communist Party of Slovakia , where he served on the Central Committee in the 1960s. He later became a member of the federal parliament of Czechoslovakia, held various functions in the Ministry of Mining, and became Minister for Foreign Trade in the governments of Lubomír Štrougal I , Lubomír Štrougal II and Lubomír Štrougal III in the 1970s .

His son Andrej Barčák was also Minister of Foreign Trade from 1989 to 1990.
