Andrew Clinkman

Andrew Clinkman (* 1991 in Glenview , Illinois ) is an American jazz and improvisation musician ( guitar , composition ).

Live and act

Clinkman took cello and guitar lessons as a child . From 2009 to 2013 he studied at the New England Conservatory of Music , where he obtained a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar . Since then he has worked in the Chicago jazz and improvisation scene, a. a. with Tim Daisy and Ken Vandermark ; he is also a member of the experimental band Spirits Having Fun . He released a solo album under his own name, The Joy of Cooking (Lake Paradise Records, 2015). He was also co-curator (with Ken Vandermark and Tim Daisy) of the Option series of events at the Experimental Sound Studio in Chicago. Since the mid-2010s he has been a member of the jazz rock formation Marker around Ken Vandermark. He is currently working in a trio with Phillip Sudderberg (drums) and Jacob Wick (trumpet).
