Macie Stewart

Macie Stewart (* around 1990 ) is an American indie rock musician ( piano , keyboard , violin , also guitar ) who is also active in the jazz and improvisation music scene .

Live and act

Stewart grew up in Chicago and received at the Community Music Division of DePaul University classically trained on piano and the violin. She has been working in the Chicago jazz and rock scene since the 2010s. She belonged to the indie rock band Kids These Days and worked in the rock duo Ohmee with the singer-songwriter Sima Cunningham, with whom she has released several singles, an EP and an album since 2015 and toured the USA in 2018. She was also active in the trio The Few and with Chance the Rapper , Vic Mensa and Jeff Tweedy . Recordings were also made with the Marker formation around Ken Vandermark ( Wired for Sound , 2017). Currently (2019) she played in a duo with Julian Kirshner as well as in the project Yes We Can: the Songs of New Orleans a . a. with Jeff Albert , Anton Hatwich , Steve Marquette and Dave Rempis .
