Anton Hatwich

Anton Hatwich (* in Rockford , Illinois ) is an American jazz and improvisation musician ( double bass , composition ).

Live and act

Hatwich grew up in Rockford and moved to Iowa City in 1995, where he studied at the University of Iowa with Diana Gannett, John Rapson and David Gompper and earned a Bachelor of Music as a double bass player. In 2002 he moved to Chicago, where he worked in the local jazz and improvisation scene a. a. worked with Frank Rosaly , Tim Daisy , Keefe Jackson , Josh Berman , Nate Lepine , Aram Shelton , Phil Sudderberg and Jim Baker . He currently also plays with Nick Mazzarella , The Fast Citizens, Nick Broste Trio and Paul Giallorenzo's GITGO. He was visiting professor at Cornell College , Mount Vernon in 2000 and 2002 and currently teaches at The Music Room in Palatine, Illinois . In the field of jazz he was involved in 21 recording sessions between 2003 and 2013. In the German-speaking area, Hatwich u. a. at the Ulrichsberger Kaleidophon 2012 in Kyle Bruckmann Gruppe Wrack .
