Heinrich Dagn

Heinrich Dagn (born July 15, 1808 in Grabenhäusl zu Ruhpolding , † November 15, 1890 in Kraiburg am Inn ) was a German church painter .

Life

Heinrich Dagn studied with the painter Nikolaus Weidtinger from Ebbs in Tyrol. This had become aware of the young Dagn while working in Ruhpolding. Then he learned and worked with Sebastian Rechenauer the Elder. Ä. in Neubeuern and as well as Baptist Luiginger in Wasserburg am Inn . In 1839 he passed the master craftsman examination at the trade school in Freising . He worked as a painter in Ebbs, Freising and Erding, among others . In 1840 he worked in Buchbach .

In 1840 Dagn married Josefa Mang, a granddaughter of the Mühldorf baroque painter Balthasar Mang the Elder. Ä. (1720–1803) and thereby received the commercial concession in Buchbach [issued on November 23, 1840 by the Neumarkt Regional Court]. Towards the end of his life he mainly worked in the Kraiburg area , where he died in 1890.

His son Peter Dagn (1847–1921) was also a church painter.
