Andrew John "AJ" Nally (born June 7, 1988 in Rochester (New York) ) is an American volleyball player .

Career

Nally was initially interested in basketball and athletics before he decided on volleyball. He started volleyball in 2002 at McQuaid Jesuit High School. From 2007 to 2010 he played on the college team in Springfield (Massachusetts) . The outside attacker then went to Europe and played in the Dutch league for Tilburg STV. After a season he moved to the French second division club Nancy Volley. In 2013 the American was signed by the German Bundesliga club evivo Düren . After one season he left Düren and moved to the Polish first division club Transfer Bydgoszcz . After the 2014/15 season, he temporarily ended his career and returned to the USA. Since 2018 he has been playing for Academy United from San Francisco in the new American NVA professional league.

In May 2014, Nally was called up to the American national team. He was nominated for the Pan America Cup 2014 and won the silver medal after losing to Cuba in the final. Nally also played in the 2015 Pan America Cup in Reno and was the captain of the American team in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto .
