Andrew Kay

Andrew F. Kay (born March 22, 1919 in Akron , Ohio - † August 28, 2014 in Vista , California ) was an American entrepreneur and inventor . He was the President and CEO of Kay Computers .

Life

Kay graduated from MIT in 1940 and started his career at Bendix . In 1952 he founded Non-Linear Systems , a manufacturer of digital displays. In 1954 he invented the digital tension meter . His company NLS launched one of the first portable computers in 1982, the Kaypro II , which sold very well.
