Andrew R. Morgan (born February 5, 1976 in Morgantown , West Virginia ) is an American astronaut .

Andrew graduated from Dover , Delaware, high school in 1994 . He then attended the United States Military Academy in West Point , where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering. Andrew Morgan received his doctorate in medicine in 2002. Until his selection as a member of NASA Astronaut Group 21, Andrew Morgan served in the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) . Morgan participated as part of the unit in missions in Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his missions.

Astronaut activity

Morgan was selected to be a member of NASA Astronaut Group 21 on June 17, 2013. On July 20, 2019, he embarked on his first mission with Soyuz MS-13 . He works as a flight engineer on ISS expeditions 60 to 62 and returned to Earth with Soyuz MS-15 on April 17, 2020.

Private

Morgan is married and has four children. His hobbies are running, swimming, weight lifting and reading.
