Andrew Ross Sorkin (born February 19, 1977 ) is an American journalist and author . He writes on the financial world for the New York Times and is the reporter in charge of Mergers & Acquisitions . He is also the presenter of the morning program Squawk Box on the American stock exchange broadcaster CNBC.

Life

Sorkin graduated from Scarsdale high school in 1995 and then studied at Cornell University ( Bachelor of Science 1999). Even as a student, Sorkin worked for The Times and Business Week magazines . In 1999 he reported from London and was appointed to his current position at the New York Times in 2000 . In 2001, Sorkin founded the financial news service DealBook as a newsletter. Sorkin is a co-creator of the TV series Billions .

Sorkin is a member of the New York Council on Foreign Relations .

Sorkin has been married since 2007 and lives with his wife in Manhattan , New York City .
