Andrew Shovlin

Andrew Shovlin (born November 1, 1973 in Liverpool ) is a British engineer in the service of Mercedes GP .

Career

Shovlin studied engineering at Leeds University from 1992 to 1999 and was supported in his doctoral thesis by Benetton . During the 1998 Formula 1 season , he went to the BAR-Supertec racing team, which was being set up, and became part of the research and development department, before becoming Olivier Panis' assistant racing engineer after the 2000 season . In 2003 he kept this post for Jenson Button, who had just joined the team, and was promoted to senior race engineer the following year. He worked with the Briton until the end of the 2009 season , while the team was initially converted into Honda and Brawn-Mercedes .

In 2010 he worked as a senior racing engineer on Michael Schumacher's car at Mercedes GP.

Private life

Shovlin is married and lives in Oxfordshire, UK with his wife and two children .
