Andrij Viktorovych Polunin ( Ukrainian Андрій Вікторович Полунін ; born March 5, 1971 in Dnipro , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Ukrainian football player .

Career

society

Polunin started his football career in Ukraine. He played in his hometown for the native Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk six seasons before he had three short stops of less than a year, at Arsenal Kiev , Karpaty Lviv and Krywbas Krywyj Rih . He then signed a contract with Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg . For the club, he completed 16 games in which he scored two goals. His start was quite convincing and he scored his first goal on his Bundesliga debut. Against Hamburger SV , he scored 1-0 in the 58th minute of the game, the game ended 1: 1. In the further course of the season his playing time decreased and he was mostly substituted, later substituted on as a substitute player. He left Nuremberg after a year and then played for a year in the 2nd Bundesliga for FC St. Pauli . For Hamburg he played 29 games and scored four goals. In St. Pauli too, it was over after a year. Polunin stayed in Germany and was hired in the regional league. Rot-Weiss Essen became his new employer. In 2002 he returned to the Ukraine to his old club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk .

National team
